Looking west across Portstewart Strand towards Downhill and Mussenden Temple, this much-loved beach is renowned for its sweeping sands, Atlantic views and the iconic wooden groynes that have become synonymous with this stretch of coastline.
The weathered posts lead the eye towards the horizon beneath an expansive coastal sky, while layers of texture and light evoke the ever-changing mood of the Atlantic. Inspired by one of the North Coast's most recognisable beaches, this painting celebrates the quiet beauty and openness of this remarkable landscape.
