Dramatically perched on a 120 foot high cliff top overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with dramatic views westward over Downhill Strand, Magilligan Point and Donegal and east toward Castlerock, Portstewart, Portrush and Fairhead, Mussenden Temple is one of the North Coast's most visited and iconic sites.
Built circa 1783 by the Earl Bishop as a summer library, it is located in the beautiful grounds of Downhill Demesne now owned by the National Trust. Over the years the scene has inspired many artists and photographers, Frankie being one of them.
