CAUSEWAY STONES Original Artwork
CAUSEWAY STONES is an original mixed media painting and forms part of Frankie's 'Fair Head to Mussenden' Summer Art Exhibition 2026.
Formed by ancient volcanic activity over 60 million years ago, the Giant's Causeway is Northern Ireland's only UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its remarkable landscape of around 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. Local folklore tells how the giant Finn McCool built the stones as a pathway across the sea to challenge his Scottish rival.
Focusing on the distinct columns, this painting celebrates the texture, scale and timeless beauty of one of Ireland's most extraordinary natural landmarks. Rich layers of mixed media echo the rugged surface of the basalt, creating a tactile response to a place that has inspired generations.
