CARRICK-A-REDE ROPE BRIDGE Original Artwork
CARRICK-A-REDE is an original mixed media painting and forms part of Frankie's 'Fair Head to Mussenden' Summer Art Exhibition 2026.
Suspended almost 30metres above the Atlantic Ocean, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge has connected the mainland to the tiny island of Carrick-a-Rede since 1755 when it was first erected by the fishermen to reach their fishing nets. Today it is one of the Causeway Coast's most iconic landmarks, offering breathtaking coastal views and an unforgettable experience for visitors.
Looking across the rope bridge towards the dramatic cliffs beyond, this painting captures both the grandeur and tranquility of this remarkable place. The layered textures, changing coastal light and rugged rock formations evoke the atmosphere of the North Coast, while the bridge itself draws the eye into the landscape.
Created from time spent sketching and observing the coastline, it is Frankie's personal response to one of Northern Ireland's most celebrated beauty spots.
