DOWNHILL BEACH Original Artwork
DOWNHILL BEACH is an original mixed media painting and forms part of Frankie's 'Fair Head to Mussenden' Summer Art Exhibition 2026.
Stretching for seven miles beneath the dramatic cliffs of Downhill Demesne, Downhill Beach is one of the North Coast's most spectacular shorelines. Overlooked by the iconic Mussenden Temple, it is also home to one of Ireland's oldest railway tunnels, where the Londonderry line still passes through the base of the cliffs today.
Painted from the shoreline, this artwork celebrates the scale and tranquillity of this remarkable landscape. Through expressive layers of texture, soft coastal light and sweeping skies, Frankie conveys the enduring beauty of a place that continues to inspire her creative practice.
